about

2013 has been a manic year for Brisbane’s glam/punk/rock monster Bertie Page Clinic. They’ve battled van breakdowns and language barriers on a three week tour of France and Spain, toured up and down Australia’s east coast, and got their body armour on for a tour of Afghanistan. In between all of that they’ve found time to record a brand new album. Released through French label Beast Records, the new long player “Too Loud Too Naked” features ten tracks that weave a path from exotic strip clubs, to blue-collar worksites. On this tortuous journey we meet a burlesque bitch, a sultry stripper, a hungry kitty, and even 1950s leading man Robert Mitchum. And while the band are renowned for their often witty and confrontational songs, their current single “Pearls” is a more subtle and personal coming of age tale that explores heartbreak and sexual politics.

To celebrate the release, the band are hitting the road for a Queensland tour, playing their home town of Brisbane plus a handful of regional locations. Catch them at one of these shows:

Friday 11 October – Yandina Hotel, YANDINA - FREE

Saturday 12 October – Racecourse (Oktoberfest), GLADSTONE – with Forever the Optimist - $30

Saturday 19 October – Rics Bar, BRISBANE – with The Halls – FREE

Friday 25 October – Irish McGanns, ROMA - FREE

“rock and roll debauchery, with a splash of burlesque and a tongue-in-cheek attitude” Push to Fire

“a show filled with theatrics and witty entertainment” Sludge Factory

“Bertie Page is a true vaudeville artiste. She has more talent than inhibitions, and she never takes herself seriously which is why she is SERIOUSLY entertaining.” Barry Humphries (a fan)
